There is meant to be nothing, really nothing, magical or mystical about this month’s Freewheelin cover. There are no signs of hobgoblins, muggles or boy wizards. Just a picture of Bob Dylan, hot from the pool, hair dripping under a straw hat, using a tooth pick to ease a stray piece of chicken from his teeth.

But hold a minute down there. What is just about to fly right over Dylan’s head? Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it’s a sister of the creature that Dylan just had for lunch. Actually it’s probably the most common image of the 21st century to date for it currently appears on about 30 million coffee tables world wide. And now it has landed on the cover of Freewheelin’! I did want the creature to be sitting down but a mangy dog crossed the street and wandered right into the scene. He barked a couple of times and the bird just took flight.

The order of our remix is in the sad departure of Neil Watson from Freewheelin’ and the arrival of Martin Stein with his assortment of W’s. Now we have our own boy wizard! And what about Dylan’s lunch? Well, perhaps he should have sexed it up with some sauce. Ah! But what’s sauce for the goose…………
